• Antinomy of Genesis

  The new appears either as miracle imported from outside the field or as tautology already contained in the initial conditions; the chapter seeks a third, immanent account.

• Miracle

  Genesis explained by an intervention, force, form, or resource external to the field under analysis.

• Tautology

  Genesis reduced to the execution of an outcome already fully predetermined or implicitly given.

• Compositional Immanence

  A single-plane account in which novelty is generated from the field’s own differentiated resources through encounter, expenditure, and recursively maintained constraint.

• Exaptive Extraction

  Structural raiding of philosophical systems: retain operators that perform at the ordeal and refuse residues that do not.

• Triadic Minimum

  Variation, encounter, and mediation are proposed as the irreducible compositional minimum for any open, constituted stratum.

• Variation

  Qualitative potential and differentiated underdetermination: more than one admissible way the field may resolve.

• Encounter

  Real resistance and differential contact through which competing tendencies are forced toward a determinate resolution.

• Mediation

  The constraint-bearing third function that sediments a resolution and governs subsequent individuations.

• Thirdness Deficit Thesis

  Where mediation is not explicitly secured and metabolically maintained, a transcendent supplement reappears to bear its load.

• Structural Number σ

  A diagnostic recording which compositional functions a philosophical apparatus secures and which it outsources.

• Stratogonic Principle

  A stratum is constituted when stabilised aspect-selection, non-zero burn rate, and constraint-closure converge at one site.

• Stabilised Aspect-Selection

  The field selects among competing configurations and the selected aspect persists.

• Non-zero Burn Rate

  Selection and maintenance consume real gradients and produce irreversible entropy: dSᵢ/dt > 0.

• Constraint-Closure

  The deposited constraint architecture channels later individuations without external supplementation.

• Landauer Floor

  The minimum thermodynamic receipt for irreversible selection among alternatives; governance without such a receipt is excluded.

• Thermodynamic Receipt

  The auditable expenditure attached to selection, coordination, or maintenance; no receipt means the operator is not admitted as immanent.

• Demon-class Error

  An operator installs or maintains a distinction while remaining outside the dissipative ledger.

• Cessation Test

  Remove the maintaining condition and observe whether the stratum degrades; degradation shows governance was physically maintained.

• Shannon–Landauer–Semantic Hierarchy

  Syntactic channel capacity is necessary but insufficient for irreversible physical information, which is necessary but insufficient for governance-bearing semantic information.

• Constraint Architecture

  Historically deposited, physically sustained relations that channel what can happen next.

• Constitutive Dissipation

  Irreversible expenditure through which metastable surplus is converted into determinate structure rather than merely degraded.

• Reflexive Audit

  The genealogy applies its own diagnostic to itself: its boundary assumptions, triadic wager, and conceptual maintenance must also carry receipts.

• Sodium Acetate Ordeal

  The anchor demonstration that tests every operator: supersaturated solution, seeded exothermic front, depleted lattice, and defect-bearing history.

• Supersaturated Metastability

  A charged liquid state carrying excess chemical potential, configurational degrees of freedom, and multiple admissible resolutions.

• Seed Crystal

  The local perturbation and mediating surface that couples previously incompatible thermal and chemical orders and initiates crystallisation.

• Crystallisation Front

  The propagating boundary where metastable potential is spent into lattice geometry and each resolved layer recruits the next.

• Depleted Lattice

  The constituted crystal and altered milieu after the front has spent the available supersaturation into determinate geometry.

• Signature of Defects

  The unrepeatable distribution of vacancies, dislocations, grain boundaries, and thermal scars that writes formation history into the individual.

• Polymorphic Underdetermination

  The same molecular species can precipitate different crystalline geometries under different boundary conditions, demonstrating real but constrained variation.

• Dissolution Horizon

  The regime boundary beyond which the lattice loses its constraint architecture and the constituted stratum degrades.

• Immanent Closure

  Causal, energetic, and explanatory closure: all resources and justificatory work must remain inside the audited field.

• Generative Law / lex seriei

  Individuality understood as an operative rule governing generation rather than a static essence or classification.

• Nested Individuality

  Individuals organised within individuals across scales, each local regime governed while participating in a larger constraint hierarchy.

• Evolutionary Constraint

  Regularities are products of prior individuations: laws are sedimented habits rather than timeless axioms.

• Habit-taking

  Iterated resolutions deepen channels of regularity so that prior outcomes become constraints on later ones.

• Agonistic Encounter

  Unequal forces meet and their differential determines both which regime prevails and the qualitative character of the outcome.

• Crisis Engine

  Encounter destabilises an entrenched regime, produces a selection, and hands the result to habit-sedimentation.

• No Other Clause

  This universe-history is not one chosen path among a surviving menu of alternatives; it is the sole line along which the field has actually spent itself.

• Irreversible Duration

  Every expenditure permanently modifies the field’s boundary conditions, converting reversible cycling into cumulative history.

• Anti-Menu Principle

  Possible outcomes are not a pre-given inventory waiting for selection; possibility is retrospectively abstracted from actual, irreversible trajectories.

• Constitutive Uptake

  The antecedent field becomes internal to a new event, which integrates heterogeneous constraints into a determinate resolution.

• Actual Occasion

  The discrete unit in which variation, encounter, and mediation converge; it achieves determinacy and becomes an inheritable datum.

• Serial Inheritance

  A completed event persists as an objective constraint available for uptake by later events.

• Metastability

  A field holds incompatible potentials in a charged but temporarily sustained configuration; individuation resolves rather than merely removes this tension.

• Disparation

  Constitutive incompatibility between heterogeneous orders that cannot be simultaneously satisfied in one homogeneous state.

• Transduction

  Each local resolution restructures the boundary conditions for the next, allowing constraint to propagate through real contact across the metastable domain.

• Generation of the Code

  The coding relation is produced by resolution itself: layer n embodies a resolution and presents the constraint language for layer n+1.

• Internal Resonance

  A sustained coordination between heterogeneous orders, achieved through ongoing transductive activity rather than pre-established harmony.

• Allagmatics

  Every concept must be cashable as an operation: specify gradients consumed, compatibilities produced, throughput, and failure mode.

• Intensive Difference

  Gradients and disparities whose cancellation produces qualitative change and determines trajectories through the field.

• Free-energy Landscape

  The historically deposited topology of basins, barriers, saddle points, and bifurcation zones that channels accessible individuation pathways.

• Virtual Topology

  Differential relations and singularities read immanently as the field’s dynamically regenerated constraint architecture, not a separate transcendental plane.

• Dark Precursor

  The local connector that relates heterogeneous series and initiates a resolution without belonging exclusively to either series.

• Stratified Single-plane Immanence

  Virtual and actual become two resolutions of one historically sedimented field; recursive constraint replaces an ontologically prior virtual register.

• Geometric Necessity

  Predetermines outcomes as logically entailed and thereby installs genesis without real selection or expenditure.

• Divine Library

  A pre-given inventory of complete possible individuals requiring a chooser outside the field.

• Pre-established Harmony

  Coordination supplied by prior synchronisation rather than earned through encounter and thermodynamic contact.

• Agapic Teleology

  A cosmic tendency toward increasing coordination that performs mediation without auditable expenditure.

• Strong Tychism

  Absolute chance promoted to ontological ground rather than constrained indeterminacy within a metastable field.

• Will-as-Primitive

  A hidden monadic intensity prior to force-relations, reintroducing a One behind relational plurality.

• Élan Vital

  A creative direction injected into nature outside the thermodynamic accounting of the metastable field.

• Privileged Intuition

  A mode of direct epistemic access that bypasses the costs and constraints of conceptual mediation.

• Eternal Objects

  Pure potentials for definiteness supplied from a pre-given qualitative inventory outside the expenditure-history of actual occasions.

• Creativity as Primitive

  An undifferentiated processual ground that performs the sheer production of novelty at zero burn rate.

• Apeironic Preindividual

  An inexhaustible reservoir of variation exempt from depletion, history, and the burn-rate economy.

• Transcendental Virtual

  The virtual treated as ontologically prior genetic ground whose differential structure governs actualisation without itself being maintained.

• Plane of Immanence

  The eight operators read simultaneously as one field of constraints; no ninth operator or separate ontological layer is added.

• Ontogenesis / Genesis Engine

  Forward propagation: how a determinate individual precipitates from a metastable field and becomes a condition of what follows.

• Hylogenesis / Stabilisation Engine

  Downward archaeology: how the material constraint-floors presupposed by individuation were themselves constituted.

• Normogenesis / Stratification Engine

  Recursive evaluation: how regime-relative better and worse emerge from the topology and expenditure-history of a field.

• Witness

  Redundant inscription of the same constraint-pattern, increasing robustness against local perturbation.

• Canon

  Selective compression through which some habits achieve deep, wide scope while others remain local and fragile.

• Closure–Crisis Lemma

  As constraint density rises, coordination costs generate collapse, plateau, or higher-order stratification.

• Viability-Normativity

  A regime is more viable insofar as its topology sustains robust constraint and preserves conditions for further individuation; the asymmetry is regime-relative, not externally legislated.

• Counterfactual Governance

  The constraint controls what would happen under perturbation, not only what happens in the observed case.

• Invariance under Transformation

  The relational pattern persists through changes in material instantiation.

• Memory as Constraint

  Prior expenditure remains active as a condition on later individuation.

• Meta-dynamics

  The constraint architecture governs how its own mode of governance changes regime.

• Thermodynamic Bite

  The mediating structure requires real expenditure to persist or operate.

• System–Environment Partition

  The beaker’s auditable boundary is presupposed rather than derived; Chapter 6 must make the partition itself an explanandum.

• Stabilisation Account

  Transduction explains precipitation and propagation but not yet the durable persistence of its products.

• Cognitive and Symbolic Burn Rate

  The molecular burn-rate grammar has not yet been operationalised for neural, semiotic, institutional, and cultural maintenance.

• Triadic Minimum Wager

  The triad is supported by formal, thermodynamic, historical, and categorical convergences but is not proven from first principles; a genuine dyadic counterexample would break it.
